Monique Phillips has also booked a role on Episode #104.
The Twilight Zone is an upcoming American anthology drama web television series, based on the original 1959 television series .
Last year, it was reported that the Academy Award-winning screenwriter, Jordan Peele, was bringing back Rod Serling’s The Twilight Zone for a third reboot over at CBS All Access. The series is described as a modern reimagining of the original series. Production on the new take will begin in the fall for a 2019 premiere on the subscription video-on-demand platform. Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and Simon Kinberg’s (X-Men) Genre Films will exec produce the CBS Television Studios drama alongside Win Rosenfeld, Audrey Chon, Carol Serling, Rick Berg and Greg Yaitanes (Banshee).
This Twilight Zone is an anthology that will tell self-contained stories in every episode. Also like its predecessors, it will lean on science fiction, fantasy and horror to tell tales laced with social commentary, often concluding with a macabre or unexpected twist, and usually with a moral.
Several high-profile actors have signed on to the show. Sanaa Lathan was the first to come aboard. Adam Scott, Kumail Nanjiani, John Cho, Alison Tolman, Jacob Tremblay and Erica Tremblay (Jacob’s younger sister) also will appear in episodes.
“Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours,” Peele said. “I’m honored to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of The Twilight Zone.”
