Operation Christmas Drop is a 2020 American Christmas rom-com movie coordinated by Martin Wood from a screenplay by Gregg Rossen and Brian Sawyer. The film stars Kat Graham and Alexander Ludwig and is approximately founded on the genuine U.S. Flying corps Operation Christmas Drop compassionate mission wherein a military base in Guam drops supplies and gifts on the most remote islands of Micronesia during the holiday season.

Back in 1952 around Christmastime, an American aircrew saw people waving at them from the island of Kapingamarangi, which is a few thousand miles southwest of Hawaii. To spread some holiday cheer, the aircrew dropped a bundle of supplies attached to a parachute to the islanders. From then on, Operation Christmas Drop became an annual tradition that involves sending supplies–like medicine, food, equipment, school necessities, clothing, and toys–to people on more than 50 islands throughout the Pacific Ocean that are not easily reached by boat.

The movie was filmed at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, the actual base camp for the operation.

The icy and professionally stifled legislative aide, Erica (Kat Graham), is sent by her Grinchy congresswoman boss (Virginia Madsen) to evaluate the efficiency of a U.S. Air Force base in Guam.

There, she goes toe to toe with Andrew (Alexander Ludwig), a genial Air Force captain, who knows her assignment is finding reasons to defund the facility and who then spearheads the operation of the title, where gifts are parachuted to people on neighboring islands.

He must convince the Scrooge-like local mayor (Aaron Douglas) to help contribute to the mission of American altruism. And Erica’s assignment might be aborted in favor of holiday miracles.
