Luis takes a stand…

Luis Javier has finished filming a role in the upcoming CBS All Access series: ‘RADIO NOWHERE’, AKA ‘THE STAND’.

The production for The Stand kicked off this fall in Vancouver and the highly-anticipated CBS All Access series is set to wrap in March. So, while no specific details have been released as of yet regarding the series’ premiere date, we should probably expect Stephen King’s apocalyptic horror drama to touch down sometime in late 2020.

The accidental release of a plague decimates the majority of America’s population leading to a post-apocalyptic tale of survival amid an other-worldly clash of good vs. evil. That, in a nutshell, is the gist of Stephen King’s fourth novel, The Stand. Released in 1978, the weighty book – the original version is 823 pages long, while the 1990 uncut edition is over 1,000 pages – explores this wasteland as a group of survivors try to find meaning in a new reality, and end up choosing sides in a war of supernatural proportions.

The Stand blends horror, science fiction, fantasy, and drama for an epic journey, It was previously adapted into a four-part live-action series back in 1994 for ABC.

The series for CBS All Access has a 10-episode order, with Josh Boone (Fault In Our Stars) and Ben Cavell (SEAL Team) overseeing. The pair co-wrote this long-form adaptation of the novel, and Boone will direct. Jill Killington and Owen King will produce.

Adding to the excitement of the new adaptation is that it will feature an epilogue written by King himself which was previously absent from all versions of the novel.

The ensemble cast will include James Marsden as Stu Redman, Amber Heard as Nadine Cross, Odessa Young as Frannie Goldsmith, and Henry Zaga as Nick Andros.

Whoopi Goldberg, will be playing Mother Abagail – the 108-year-old woman who ends up becoming the leader of the good survivors. Additional cast announcements included Jovan Adepo as Larry Underwood, Owen Teague as Harold Lauder, Brad William Henke as Tom Cullen, and Daniel Sunjata as Cobb.

And Marilyn Manson will be acting in the series, too. The character he’s playing has been kept under wraps, leading many to speculate that he will be playing the pyromaniac role of Trashcan Man.

Randall Flagg, The demonic leader of the evil survivors – also known as the Dark Man – will be played by Alexander Skarsgård. Flagg’s s right-hand-man, Lloyd Henreid, will be played by Nat Wolff.

Also Joining the series is Shadowhunters star Katherine McNamara who plays evil survivor Julie Lawry.

Joining McNamara is Eion Bailey, who will play Teddy Weizak and Hamish Linklater as military disease specialist Dr. Ellis.

Heather Graham will take on the role of one-percenter Rita Blakemoor And Greg Kinnear will be playing Glen Batemen, the cranky yet kind-hearted professor
