An ‘Edgy’ Role For Luis

Luis Javier has finished filming a role in upcoming tv series, ‘The Edge of Sleep’.

The Edge of Sleep, is a TV series based on his QCode podcast of the same name created by Chozen writers Jake Emanuel and Willie Block.

It was announced in April 2021 that popular YouTuber Mark Fischbach, aka Markiplier, is set to star in, and executive produce   In addition to Markiplier, who will reprise his role from the original podcast, Lio Tipton (Crazy, Stupid, Love) and Eve Harlow (Next) will also star. The Revenant (2015) producer New Regency will serve as the studio and independently finance the under-the-radar project. The announcement said filming will begin in May 2021 in Kamloops, British Columbia.

The post-apocalyptic mystery-thriller will follow a night watchman who finishes his shift at work to discover that everyone in the world who went to sleep the previous night has died. He and a band of survivors must stay awake and uncover the secret of the terrifying global epidemic before they too fall asleep.

Fischbach, Emanuel, and Block will all serve as executive producers on the series with Corey Adams directing.

The Edge of Sleep joins a number of scripted podcasts that have gone into development as TV series, and with Markiplier’s built-in audience from YouTube, it could very well see outstanding viewing numbers depending on where it lands. This marks the first time the gamer and online influencer has stepped into a scripted acting role for television. His choose-your-own-adventure A Heist with Markiplier garnered millions of views upon its release, and his channel has over 15 billion views globally.
