Movie Reviews…
A Colossal Role For Nathan…
Nathan Ellison will be playing a role in the feature film, “Colossal“!!
Anne Hathaway is set to star in this project, which is sure to be one of the biggest curiosity factors at this year’s Cannes film market. Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes) is writing and directing for Voltage Pictures.
In the movie — described as Transformers versus Adaptation and Godzilla meets Being John Malkovich; Hathaway will play Gloria, an ordinary woman who, after losing her job and her fiancé, decides to leave her life in New York to move back to her hometown.
But when news reports surface that a giant lizard is destroying the city of Tokyo, Gloria gradually comes to realize that she is strangely connected to these far-off events via the power of her mind. In order to prevent further destruction, Gloria needs to determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.
Our Little Heros…
Tuesday Hofmann and Ava Frye book on Arrow!! (episodes #409 & #410).
The series takes a realistic look at the Green Arrow character, as well as other characters from the DC Comics universe. Although Oliver Queen/Green Arrow had been featured in the television series Smallville from 2006 to 2011, the producers decided to start clean and find a new actor (Amell) to portray the character. Arrow focuses on the humanity of Oliver Queen, and how he was changed by time spent shipwrecked on an island. Most episodes have flashback scenes to the five years in which Oliver was missing.
Tori’s A Real Heartbreaker…
Tori Katongo books a role on “Un-Break my Heart”
Lifetime’s “Un-Break My Heart,” is an original movie based on singer Toni Braxton’s memoirs. The authorized film will follow Braxton’s ups and downs through severe chronic illness, financial troubles and divorce, while navigating her son’s autism and family struggles. Braxton will executive produce and appear in the film. “Un-Break My Heart” will also be executive produced by Craig Baumgarten, Erik Kritzer and Marcus Grant, and hails from Link Entertainment. The script was penned by Susan McMartin, with Vondie Curtis-Hall set to direct.
Debbi Morgan (“Power,” “All My Children”) will play Braxton’s mother, Evelyn, while Gavin Houston (“Guiding Light”) will play her frequent collaborator, producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Cortney Scott Wright, Skye P. Marshall (“Public Morals”) and LaToya Franklyn (“Subways”) have also been cast as Braxton’s sisters and fellow singers, Traci, Towanda and Trina Braxton. It was previously announced that Tiffany Hines (“Devious Maids”) would play Braxton’s other sister, singer Tamar Braxton, and that Lex Scott Davis would play Braxton herself.
Meet Our Bestie, Lyle…

Lyle Reginald gets a role on “Besties“, AKA “Untitled Kelly Fremon Craig“.
STX Entertainment continues to build up its development slate, adding a coming-of-age drama in the vein of a John Hughes film.
Teen star Hailee Steinfeld plays the lead role in the movie Besties about two BFFs with Bad Blood after one secretly dates the other’s older brother. Steinfeld is known for her Oscar-nominated role in True Grit, her star turn in Pitch Perfect 2 with Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson and her hit summer single and music video Love Myself. Blake Jenner of Glee, Woody Harrelson and Kyra Sedgwick co-star.
Kelly Fremon is directing the film based on her script and James L. Brooks is producing. Besties started filming in metro Vancouver on Wednesday, October 21st, and is expected to wrap December 1st.
Midnight Son…
Alex Pangburn has just completed shooting on feature film “Midnight Sun“.
Bella Thorne and Patrick Schwarzenegger have been cast as the leads of Midnight Sun, a young adult love story that will be financed by Boies/Schiller Film Group. Scott Speer (Step Up: Revolution) is set to direct the pic from a script by Eric Kirsten.
Based on a 2006 Japanese film, Midnight Sun centers on Katie (Thorne), a 17-year-old sheltered since childhood and confined to her house during the day by a rare disease that makes even the smallest amount of sunlight deadly. Fate intervenes when she meets Charlie (Schwarzenegger) and they embark on a summer romance.
John Rickard and Zack Schiller, who are collaborating on the Fletch redo with Jason Sudeikis at Relativity, are producing; David Boies, James McGough, Alan Ou, Hiroki Shirota and Speer are executive producing; Devin Andre will co-produce. WME Global is handling the domestic sale.
