Luke McAndless-Davis is in Shanghai filming the feature film “Warriors Gate.”
Luc Besson and Fundamental chief Mark Gao Jingdong are collaborating, with filming taking place in China, as a French-Chinese co-production.
Genre film director Matthias Hoene has come on board to direct this S3D fantasy thriller penned by Besson and Robert Mark Karmen
(“The Karate Kid”).
The film’s stars include Taiwanese-Canadian actor Mark Chao (“Monga”); rising Chinese name Ni Ni, who featured in Zhang Yimou’s “Flowers of War”; and Uriah Shelton.
“Warrior’s Gate” centers around a teenager who is magically transported to China where he trains to become a kung fu warrior in order to save a princess from danger.
