Freeze Frame!!

Kurt Ostlund is busy filming a recurring role on TNT’s adaptation of Snowpiercer.

Snowpiercer is based on the French graphic novel by Jacques Lob (writer) and Jean-Marc Rochette (art). The show takes place in an apocalyptic future where the planet has been ravaged by a new ice age and the only survivors live aboard a high-speed train.

Co-produced by Tomorrow Studios, Turner’s Studio T, and Korea’s CJ Entertainment, the series is executive produced by Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements, as well as Matthew O’Connor. The producing staff behind the original film — Bong, Park Chan-wook, Lee Tae-hun and Choi Doo-ho — have also joined the television adaptation as co-executive producers. James Hawes, director of the series who replaced Scott Derrickson and Orphan Black showrunner Graeme Manson who replaced Josh Friedman share the role. Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs will star in the Snowpiercer TV series and it is still expected to hit TNT sometime this year.

Doctor Strange and Sinister filmmaker Scott Derrickson helmed the feature-length pilot before famously stepping away.

Derrickson said the pilot, from a 72-page script penned by Josh Friedman (Sarah Connor Chronicles, War of the Worlds), “may be my best work.”

Synopsis:
Based on the French graphic novel ‘Le Transperceneige‘, the series focuses on the last survivors on the planet. They inhabit ‘The Snowpiercer‘, a train that travels around the globe, which is divided into two feuding classes.

It touches on themes of class warfare, social injustice, and the politics of survival as the remnants of humanity — split into fractions of the lower and upper-class — are now trapped in an always-moving train circling the globe seven years after the Freeze, a devastating event that left the world a frosted-over wasteland.

The series will premiere on TNT and Netflix in 2019.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before – Premiered August 17th On Netflix

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before Is an Extraordinary Rom-Com About Ordinary Teens starring Madeleine Arthur and Isabelle Beech.

Novelist Jenny Han and screenwriter Sofia Alvarez joined forces for Netflix’s quietly revolutionary new rom-com, which puts an Asian-American heroine front and centre.

Netflix’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (released August 17) has brought a tender, lighthearted romance story to life!

Directed by Susan Johnson, the film is charming across the board—but it’s the story at its center, written by Han and adapted for the screen by Alvarez, that makes it stand out. Based on Han’s best-selling Y.A. novel, To All the Boys follows high-school junior Lara Jean Song Covey (Lana Condor), after her hatbox of love letters—one for each of the five boys she’s loved in her life—mysteriously goes missing. Our protagonist, who would much rather fantasize about love than actually fall into it, is suddenly forced to face her feelings head-on, navigating potential suitors including her middle-school crush, Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), and her older sister’s ex-boyfriend, Josh Sanderson (Israel Broussard), while simultaneously dealing with all the other stressors that come with being a teenager.

“When I wrote the book, I went into it hoping to write a modern, classic love story that felt really warm and cozy,” said Han. This is a story about a young girl who is comfortable being the sidekick in her own narrative, before suddenly finding herself to be the heroine:

This is a film that doesn’t talk down to its audience about subjects such as sex and dating, but instead treats them as young adults, demonstrating how anyone’s initial attempts at romance are like learning to walk: We’re all a little bit wobbly at first. Conceived as a kind of “Sixteen Candles” for the Snapchat generation, this endearing Netflix Original offers an honest, unsentimental take on the lives of high school students.

Cast:
Lana Condor as Lara Jean Song Covey, the main protagonist.
Isabelle Beech as young Lara Jean.
Noah Centineo as Peter Kavinsky, Lara Jean’s main love interest.
